When Miller left Greece, he gave the manuscript of this book to Seferis to keep. Years later, he asked George's widow Maro to send him the manuscript, so it could be printed. Afterwards he sent the manuscript back accompanied with a copy of the book, with the inscription: "This copy especially inscribed to Maro Seferiades with gratitude and affection. Henry Miller, 21.4.1973".
