In this publication Diana Haas presents — with an introduction (pp. 281-296, in Greek) — an edition of Cavafy’s prose text (in English) Constantinopoliad an Epic, a diary on the travel of Cavafy’s mother and five of her sons from Alexandria to Constantinople (1882) (pp. 297-304). Other interesting items by Cavafy that are published in this article are: a poem entitled “Leaving Therapia”, written (in English) in the same year (July 18, 1882) (p. 286) and two translations into English, one in prose and one in verse, of Dionysios Solomos’ poem “On Psara” (p. 303).

The volume is based on an international conference dedicated to C.Th. Dimaras held in Thessalonike, 10-12 May 1990.
